What does getting funded really cost? A challenge fee isn't the price of a funded account — it's the price of one attempt. Most traders need several. This calculator does the honest math: expected total cost to pass, how much funded-account profit you need to break even at your firm's split, and how long that takes at a realistic monthly return.
Expected cost = fee ÷ pass rate (the statistical average across attempts — half of traders will pay more). Break-even profit = expected cost ÷ your split, i.e. the gross profit the funded account must produce before your payouts cover what you spent. Many firms refund the fee with the first payout — if yours does, treat the result as your worst case. Be honest with the pass-rate estimate: industry chatter puts typical first-attempt pass rates well under 30%.

Three levers dominate the math: your real pass rate (the biggest one — a 10% vs 30% estimate triples the expected cost), the split, and fee refunds. A cheap challenge with a low split and no refund can easily cost more, expected-value-wise, than a pricier one with a 90% split and refund on first payout.
